Job summary

NSW Health at Nepean Hospital is seeking an experienced Senior Podiatrist to deliver specialised podiatry services within the High Risk Foot Service. You will contribute to outpatient, inpatient and outreach activities across Mootang Tarimi and Aboriginal Health Services, in a culturally safe environment.

The role requires current AHPRA registration and proven experience in multidisciplinary teams, with strong communication and QA/QI leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Podiatrist with AHPRA, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (as a genuine occupational qualification).
• Experience in podiatry within multidisciplinary teams is expected.
• Ability to provide in-depth education and advice to enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialised podiatry services to Nepean Hospital patients across outpatient, inpatient and outreach settings.
• Contribute to Mootang Tarimi and Greater Western Aboriginal Health Services projects.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to support service excellence and patient outcomes.

What you will bring to the role

• Current registration as a Podiatrist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (an applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW).
• Extensive postgraduate experience in podiatry and working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills, including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout all organisational levels
• Ability to provide in depth advice and education to enhance high risk foot service delivery in healthcare settings
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share QI initiatives and service evaluation processes as part of a team
• Demonstrated student supervision and staff training skills
• Demonstrated ability to work as a sole practitioner with advanced reasoning skills and ability to be able to operate autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to complete timely documentation.
