Job summary

Firmus Technologies Pty Ltd. seeks a Senior Platform Security Engineer to own production security for its GPU-based AI infrastructure.

You will deploy runtime visibility using eBPF tooling and manage the security gates across the delivery pipeline, including SBOM and policy checks. You will define security standards for the Kubernetes estate, enforce admission and network policies, and provide expert incident response guidance in a 24/7 production environment.

Qualifications

• Strong privileged access security design and production auditing.
• Security of multi-tenant Kubernetes environments including admission policy and network policy.
• Extensive experience with eBPF-based runtime security tooling (Cilium, Falco, Tetragon).
• DevSecOps experience: image signing, SBOM, vulnerability gating and policy checks.
• Policy-as-code tooling for Kubernetes and delivery pipelines.
• Senior escalation point for security-related faults in 24/7 production.
• Scripting/programming for security automation (Python, Go, Bash).
• Clear technical judgement and communication translating security findings to engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build runtime visibility and enforcement using eBPF-based tooling, feeding high-quality signals into security monitoring and tuning alerts.
• Own security gates in the delivery pipeline: image signing, SBOM, vulnerability gating and policy checks; maintain policy-as-code controls.
• Set and own the security content of the multi-tenant Kubernetes estate: admission policy, workload identity and network policy.
• Set the operational security standard for Kubernetes control planes and baselines; validate continuously and raise deviations as needed.
• Validate layered controls that limit blast radius; test against realistic failure and attack paths and feed findings to the AI Infrastructure team.
• Investigate and respond to security-related operational anomalies, distinguishing signals from ordinary symptoms.
• Operate controls in line with ISO 27001 and NIST; produce security evidence for the Service Delivery Manager.
• Provide deep technical expertise for security faults and mentor engineers on secure design and runtime security practice.
• Provide independent monitoring of privileged activity across the estate, including identity/certificates/secrets platforms.
