Job summary

CommBank is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, run, and evolve our Kubernetes-based platform services. You will automate infrastructure and environments, partnering with enterprise engineers to deliver value at speed.

You’ll work on container tech (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS), IaC tooling, and CI/CD pipelines, writing automation in Go or Python while embracing DevOps/SRE best practices and a culture of collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in Cloud environments (AWS preferred) and delivering platform services.
• Proficient in Go or Python for automation and tooling.
• Strong CI/CD experience and implementing GitOps practices.
• Solid DevOps/SRE fundamentals: monitoring, logging, security.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product engineers to design, build and run platforms delivering customer value at velocity.
• Maintain and evolve infrastructure to be reliable, secure and scalable, with self-service where possible.
• Ensure platforms are loved by software engineers and evolve with new tech to improve efficiency.
• Create standardized tooling for deploying and running applications with best practices.
• Write automation code in Python or Go to deploy and operate environments.
• participate in cross-group activities to raise engineering capability and drive strategy.
