Job summary

Kudosity is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer based in Sydney. You will lead cloud platforms, drive reliability, and shape platform patterns to enable fast, scalable development across Kudosity.

You’ll mentor a team of cloud engineers, own architectural decisions for complex systems, and collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver robust, secure infrastructure. This role is hybrid and Sydney-based.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of cloud experience (AWS and/or GCP).
  • Expert in Kubernetes and microservice architectures.
  • Proficient in Golang, Python, and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational excellence from observability to reliability.
  • Reduce release cycle time.
  • Guide AWS to GCP transition.
  • Mentor cloud engineers and enforce best practices.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and development teams.

Senior Platform Engineer
Sydney, NSW; Hybrid

Kudosity is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer who lives and breathes cloud - from pipelines and performance to scalability and reliability. You’ll play a key role in shaping the platform patterns and architecture that enable fast, reliable development across Kudosity.

The Role

As a technical leader within the Platform Engineering team, you’ll provide hands‑on expertise, mentorship and guidance across cloud infrastructure, deployment, optimisation and reliability. You’ll help make the right architectural decisions today while building the foundations for where we’re going next.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the guiding light on operational excellence, from observability to performance to reliability.
  • Help decrease the cycle time for releases.
  • Provide directional support on our transition from AWS to GCP.
  • Be ahead of the curve in terms of arising technologies, but also how we can better use the ones we use now.
  • Foster a culture of You Build It, You Run It across the teams.
  • A laser focus on cost management and a pragmatic approach to technology choices.
  • Drive architectural and infrastructural decisions forward with a strategic view of where we’re headed
  • A strong sense of learning from failure and an eagerness to push us to do things better.
  • Mentor the team of cloud engineers, fostering collaboration, conducting code reviews, and promoting best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and developer teams to align on project goals, iterate on user feedback, and drive agile processes.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps, evaluate emerging technologies, and champion improvements in platform maintainability, security, and user experience.
  • Lead end-to‑end infrastructure development efforts across design, build, deployment, and beyond
  • Own architectural decisions for complex systems and ensure scalable, reliable design.
  • Continuously raise the bar for quality, performance, and reliability.
  • Tackle ambiguous problems and break them into elegant, innovative solutions.Prioritise impact and feasibility while balancing speed and technical rigour.
  • Write clear, reusable documentation for internal and cross-team use.
  • Bridge technical and non-technical teams with clear, compelling communication.
  • Make technical decisions with a clear line of sight to customer, product goals and business outcomes.
  • Thrive in a fast-moving environment, adapting to change with resilience and clarity.
Skills & Experience
  • You have over 5 years of practical experience using Cloud technologies, including AWS and/or GCP.
  • You're an expert in Kubernetes and EKS/GKE, with a deep understanding of microservice/domain architecture.
  • Your development skills are top‑notch, including experience with languages like Golang, Python, and Javascript.
  • You're a great communicator and mentor, able to guide other Cloud Engineers at all levels.
  • You're able to tackle complex business problems and design comprehensive Cloud solutions.
  • You have a strong background in Infrastructure as Code and experience working with large, high‑performing applications.
  • Your DevSecOps experience is excellent, with a keen understanding of security controls.
  • You have the ability to drive consensus and effect change.
  • Successful delivery of projects and technical initiatives against agreed timelines.
  • System reliability, performance and scalability.
  • Code quality, maintainability and test coverage.
  • Team performance, development and engagement.
  • Effective resolution of technical issues and critical defects.
  • Progress against technical roadmap and product objectives.
  • Effective collaboration across Engineering, Product and other teams.
