Job summary

JBS Brooklyn Plant, the largest beef and lamb processing site in the Southern Hemisphere, is seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to lead the engineering performance team. You will report to the Engineering Manager and guide a maintenance workforce including a supervisor and up to 40 tradespeople.

This role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, highly regulated food manufacturing environment with a focus on safety, uptime, and continuous improvement across kill floor and fabrication

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience leading a maintenance team in a food manufacturing setting.
• Strong emphasis on WHS and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily engineering and maintenance operations across kill floor and fabrication machinery.
• Implement preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance systems.
• Lead, coach, and develop a maintenance team including a supervisor and up to 40 tradespeople.
• Ensure maintenance aligns with production demands in a high-volume environment.
• Manage contractors and service providers for efficient delivery.
• Analyze data to improve equipment performance, uptime, and reliability.
• Engage in site projects and infrastructure improvements.
• Drive WHS and environmental compliance across engineering activities.
