Job summary

Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking a Senior Planner to lead detailed project scheduling across tender and delivery phases for major infrastructure projects in Australia. You will work with project teams, procurement, construction and clients to deliver accurate timelines and risk analytics.

Based in Brisbane (Milton) with potential flexibility for the right candidate, this role emphasises schedule integrity, progress reporting and mentoring junior planners within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering or related degree required; construction/major infrastructure focus preferred.
• PM certification is advantageous and demonstrates structured project controls implementation.
• Experience with extensions of time and delay analysis is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Prepare tender and delivery schedules aligned to contract requirements and project objectives.
• Develop resource-loaded and cost-loaded programs for project execution.
• Facilitate schedule reviews, critical path workshops and planning sessions.
• Monitor project performance and provide schedule analysis and reporting; identify risks and mitigation actions.
• Review delay events and undertake delay analysis and mitigation planning.
• Assess supplier and subcontractor schedules for quality, completion and progress.
• Support project controls activities including earned value and schedule performance reporting.
• Prepare planning reports, dashboards and project status updates.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify risks, opportunities and schedule improvements.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to planners across the business.
