Job summary

Austal in Fremantle is seeking a Senior Planner to shape how shipbuilding programs are planned and delivered. You will develop and oversee the overall program schedule, coordinating across engineering, procurement, construction, testing and delivery to ensure on-time completion.

You will provide planning leadership for a major program, maintain the schedule, identify delays early, and give senior leaders clear insights into progress and risks to keep programs on track and successful.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or higher in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • Experience developing and managing project schedules in complex delivery environments such as shipbuilding, defence, construction or manufacturing.
  • Experience using scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or similar planning tools.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, critical path planning and change control.
  • Australian citizen with eligibility to obtain baseline security clearance.

  • Monitor schedule performance and identify risks, delays or constraints early.
  • Implement and maintain performance tracking processes that link schedule progress with project performance.
  • Prepare clear planning reports and schedule insights for senior leaders.

Job description

Based in Fremantle. the Senior Planner will be responsible for shaping how our shipbuilding programs are planned and delivered. In this role you will develop and oversee the overall program schedule, bringing together work across engineering, procurement, construction, testing and final delivery to ensure activities are properly coordinated and completed on time.

Working on a major shipbuilding program, you will provide planning leadership, maintain the overall program schedule, identify potential delays early and give senior leaders clear insight into progress and future risks. Your work will help ensure complex shipbuilding programs remain on track and deliver successfully.
