Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician for the Dispensary Services at our Aintree site. The role focuses on leadership, training, and ensuring accurate dispensing across the dispensary team.

You will supervise pharmacy assistants, technicians and students, support staff development, and participate in after-hours shifts as required by the Pharmacy Directorate. Experience in hospital pharmacy and accuracy checking is essential.

Formación

• Experience as a final accuracy checking pharmacy technician in a hospital environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and flexibility; willing to rotate across sites.
• Ability to supervise pharmacy assistants and technicians, and train staff.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, coordinate and supervise dispensary staff to ensure accurate and timely dispensing of medicines.
• Accurately check prescriptions and supervise accuracy checking activities.
• Ensure training and development needs of dispensary staff are met, including students and trainees.
• Maintain stock levels and complete daily stock reconciliation; address discrepancies.
• Participate in evening, weekend, and bank holiday shifts as per Directorate arrangements.
• Supervise dispensary operations across sites when required and manage rotas.
• Contribute to SOP development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide patient-facing support and answer medication queries with appropriate escalation when needed.
