Job summary

Metro North Health is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to support the Caboolture, Kilcoy and Woodford Pharmacy Directorate across multiple healthcare settings. You will work under registered pharmacists to provide advanced clinical support and pharmaceutical services that enhance patient safety and care.

The role includes dispensing, imprest management, ward-based clinical support, inventory control, quality improvement activities and admin duties, with mentoring for less-experienced staff

Qualifications

• Experience as a pharmacy assistant in clinical settings.
• Ability to perform pharmaceutical administration tasks with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level pharmacy assistant services including prescription dispensing, imprest management and ward-based clinical support.
• Coordinate pharmaceutical inventory management including ordering, receiving, storage and stock takes.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits and procedural reviews.
• Support mentoring and supervision of less experienced staff.
• Undertake PBS claim preparation, Schedule 8 reporting and medicines reconciliation.

About the roleJoin the Caboolture, Kilcoy and Woodford Pharmacy Directorate as a Senior Pharmacy Assistant and play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services across multiple healthcare settings. Working under the supervision of registered pharmacists, you will provide advanced clinical support and pharmaceutical services that contribute directly to safe and effective patient care.This varied role includes prescription dispensing, ward-based clinical support, imprest management, medicine stock control, quality improvement activities and administrative support functions.
