Job summary

Blackwater Recruitment seeks a Head of Pricing to lead end-to-end pricing for our personal lines products in Australia. You will craft pricing strategy, guide modelling initiatives, and oversee a technical pricing team to optimise profitability and market performance.

The role requires FIAA or equivalent, 15+ years in general insurance with emphasis on pricing, analytics, and project leadership; expertise in GLMs, SQL, Python, Earnix or Radar is highly desirable; location Brisbane or Sydney.

Qualifications

• Must hold FIAA or equivalent qualification, with credentials.
• 15+ years in general insurance, focusing on pricing strategy, advanced analytics and leading projects.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities in pricing contexts.
• Excellent data integrity practices and meticulous development and execution of pricing models.
• Understanding of statistical modelling techniques, especially predictive modelling (GLMs).
• Knowledge of risk management principles integrated into analytical work and project frameworks.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for model development, data manipulation and automation; experience with Earnix or Radar.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end pricing for personal lines products.
• Manage and develop a technical pricing team to improve profitability and market performance.
• Direct pricing strategy development and implementation to mitigate financial risks.
