Job summary

Barwon Health is seeking a Senior Peer Worker to join the Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) team. You will use your lived experience to inspire hope, promote recovery and support young people to achieve personal goals within a multidisciplinary setting.

You will lead Peer Workers, contribute to service development and promote recovery principles across programs, education and policy in a 24/7, trauma-informed care environment.

Qualifications

• Experience using lived experience to support recovery and wellbeing.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills to build trusting relationships with youths and colleagues.
• Commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and person-centred practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual peer support and facilitate recovery-focused group programs for young people.
• Mentor Peer Workers and contribute lived experience expertise to care planning and service development.
• Advocate for lived experience perspectives across programs and education to strengthen recovery-oriented practice.
