Job description

Clarity Partners is proud to partner with a leading Australian contract mining company with operations across Australia and Southeast Asia.

We’re seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join a dynamic and growing business that supports a diverse, nationwide workforce. In this role, you’ll report to the Payroll Manager and be part of a supportive team responsible for managing large, complex payroll operations, with a strong focus on accuracy, collaboration, and strict adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process end-to-end weekly payroll for a large, complex employee base
  • Interpret multiple EBAs and Awards
  • Manage payroll reconciliations, reporting, and compliance
  • Handle payroll queries and provide accurate, timely responses
  • Support continuous improvement and system optimisation projects
  • Liaise with HR, Finance, and other departments as needed

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of end-to-end payroll experience
  • Ideally, from mining, mining services, or construction sectors
  • Strong understanding of EBAs, Awards, and Fair Work compliance
  • Experience with payroll systems like Pronto, Chris21, SAP ECP, or SuccessFactors is desirable
  • High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a proactive mindset
  • Ability to work autonomously and handle sensitive information with discretion
