Job summary

Aequalis Consulting is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll for a large workforce across Australia and New Zealand. Based in Sydney with hybrid working, you will ensure accurate processing and strong compliance with modern awards and legislation.

You will oversee payroll for 1,200+ employees, audit superannuation, tax and deductions, and mentor junior staff, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline processes in a fast-paced, technology-driven

Qualifications

• 3+ years end-to-end payroll in high-volume environments.
• Strong knowledge of Modern Awards for technology and logistics.
• Experience with payroll software (ADP Payforce, Kronos) is advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Process payroll across multiple entities for Australia and NZ.
• Audit and manage superannuation, tax and deductions including student loans, child support and PAYE.
• Provide first-class customer service for payroll queries.
• Mentor payroll team members and promote continuous learning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and ensure data accuracy.

What You’ll Bring:

• Proficiency in ADP systems (Payforce, Kronos) is highly regarded.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
