Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll & HR Operations Specialist to join our team on a 12-month parental leave contract. This is a standalone role with a strong focus on managing end-to-end payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, statutory reporting, and payroll governance.

In addition to payroll responsibilities, you will support key HR operational activities across the employee lifecycle, HR systems administration, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery
• Process payroll transactions including salaries, allowances, leave, bonuses, superannuation, KiwiSaver, and termination payments
• Manage payroll compliance, payroll tax, statutory reporting, reconciliations, audits, and year-end activities
• Act as the key point of contact for payroll queries from employees, managers, Finance, and external providers
• Maintain payroll, time and attendance, and HR systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
• Support onboarding, offboarding, employment changes, and employee documentation
• Prepare payroll and workforce reports, analytics, and compliance reporting
• Assist with workers' compensation administration, wage declarations, and return-to-work coordination
• Identify and implement process improvements across payroll and HR operations
• Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, employment changes, and employee documentation
• Maintain employee records and organisational structures within HR systems
• Support HR systems administration, reporting, data integrity, and process improvement initiatives
• Provide day-to-day support to employees and managers on HR policies, processes, and employee data matters

Experience Required

• Extensive experience managing end-to-end payroll, ideally across Australia and New Zealand
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, superannuation, KiwiSaver, payroll tax, and statutory compliance requirements
• Experience working with payroll systems such as ADP and HRIS platforms such as SuccessFactors
• Exposure to HR administration and employee lifecycle processes
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, reporting, and Excel skills
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
• A collaborative approach with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
