About the role

The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for leading embellishment initiatives, managing co-pack operations, supporting planning functions, and driving packaging sustainability efforts. This role plays a key part in delivering packaging solutions aligned with marketing, packaging operations, and environmental goals, while also ensuring timely reporting to regulatory bodies such as APCO.

Your responsibilities
  • Lead packaging embellishment projects including specialty finishes, labelling, artwork development and prepare specification/Documentation
  • Collaborate with design, technical, and brand teams to ensure visual excellence and packaging feasibility.
  • Champion cost, quality, and speed-to-market optimizations in embellishment.
  • Serve as the key liaison between internal stakeholders and co-packers.
  • Oversee the readiness of packaging components, timelines, and production accuracy.
  • Track and report co-packer performance, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Contribute to packaging inputs within supply planning activities.
  • Align packaging availability with production and launch timelines.
  • Anticipate and communicate risks related to material delays or co-packing constraints.
  • Manage embellishment operations with Australia and NZ-specific embellishment sites to ensure on-time product availability.
  • Control inventory movement between Reckitt WH and embellishment sites, including stock reconciliation(monthly), Ad-hock PO creation in SAP, and rework activities.
  • Lead packaging sustainability initiatives in line with company and regional goals.
  • Collect, analyze, and report packaging sustainability data to APCO and other relevant bodies.
  • Support the implementation of sustainable materials (e.g., PCR, recyclability improvements) across packaging formats.
  • Stay up-to-date on sustainability regulations and ensure packaging compliance.
The experience we're looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain
  • 3-5 years of experience in packaging, preferably in FMCG, healthcare
  • Solid understanding of embellishment techniques, co-packing operations, and sustainable packaging materials.
  • Experience with APCO reporting requirements and packaging lifecycle assessments is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
