Job summary

National Measurements Institute in Sydney's North Ryde lab is seeking an Organic Senior Analyst at APS Level 6 to lead organic residue testing across samples including pesticides, PFAS and antibiotics.

You will supervise a team, develop and validate GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS methods, and deliver timely results while upholding QA/QC in a NATA-accredited environment. Australian citizens with baseline security clearance are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and practical experience of organic residue analysis using GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS with QA/QC in a NATA-accredited lab.
• Demonstrated method development and validation using GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS with report writing.
• Experience supervising, mentoring and supervising staff, setting priorities and managing workflows.
• Ability to solve complex problems, interpret analytical data and provide defensible conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Use and manage GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS to maintain laboratory operations.
• Lead technical method development projects with defined plans and milestones.
• Supervise analysts in routine sample prep and data processing, ensuring quality outputs.
• Interpret complex analytical data and resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical advice to stakeholders and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive efficiency.
