Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking a Senior Oracle Applications DBA to design, build and support Oracle Database and Oracle E‑Business Suite environments for our customers across Australia. You will lead technical engagements, resolve performance issues and mentor junior team members.

This role offers a hybrid work pattern with office attendance several days per week and travel to client sites as required. You will work across UNIX/Linux and Windows, contribute to pre-sales activities and ensure security

Qualifications

• At least seven years’ experience implementing and upgrading Oracle Applications including 11i and R12.
• Strong Oracle Database expertise across legacy and current releases on UNIX/Linux and Windows.
• Proficiency in Oracle Database and E‑Business Suite security, recovery, patching and tuning.
• Excellent SQL writing and optimisation skills.
• Experience delivering services within a managed services environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Oracle Applications DBA to design, build and support Oracle Database and Oracle E-Business Suite environments for our customers.

Combining hands-on technical delivery with architecture and consultancy, you will lead technical engagements, resolve complex performance issues and provide guidance to customers and colleagues. You will also support pre-sales activities and mentor DBA team members.

This role can be based in any major Australian city, with attendance at a DXC office two to three days per week. You will also need to work on customer sites as required, be willing to travel and participate in an on-call roster.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop technical architecture solutions aligned with customer requirements.
• Design and build Oracle Database and Oracle E-Business Suite environments to meet business needs.
• Act as a technical authority, guiding customers through technical engagements and supporting pre-sales consultancy.
• Manage database and application security, recovery, patching, performance monitoring and tuning.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical and performance issues, working closely with other technical specialists.
• Support functional teams with Oracle E-Business Suite module implementations and troubleshooting.
• Mentor DBA team members, sharing knowledge and promoting industry best practices.
• Build trusted relationships with customer technical teams and communicate confidently with middle and senior management.
• Take ownership of delivery outcomes, manage competing priorities and identify improvements that increase reliability and reduce manual effort.

You Are An Experienced Oracle Applications DBA Who Combines Strong Technical Capability With a Practical, Customer-focused Approach. You Work Effectively Across Multidisciplinary Teams And Time Zones, Communicate Clearly And Maintain Quality Under Delivery Pressure. You Will Also Bring

• At least seven years’ experience implementing and upgrading Oracle Applications, including 11i and R12.
• Strong Oracle Database experience across legacy and current releases, on UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms, including Oracle Engineered Systems.
• Strong skills in Oracle Database and E-Business Suite security administration, data recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, and patching.
• Proficiency in writing and optimising SQL statements.
• Experience delivering services within a managed services environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex infrastructure issues with minimal guidance.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Cloud certifications and ITIL 4 Foundation certification.

Highly desirable experience includes:

• Single sign-on integration, Oracle Internet Directory and Oracle Access Manager.
• Oracle Database administration in Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments.
• Database administration on Exadata Cloud at Customer.
• Administration of Oracle E-Business Suite environments in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
