Senior or Principal Traffic Engineer / Transportation Planner (Brisbane)

Bitzios Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Traffic Engineer / Transport Planner to join our Brisbane team.

We are a specialist traffic engineering and transport planning consultancy working across a diverse range of projects throughout Australia and are looking for someone who is technically strong, enjoys working with clients and project teams, and is motivated to help deliver high-quality transport outcomes.

The Role

You will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to a broad range of traffic and transport projects, with a high degree of autonomy supported by an experienced and highly-skilled leadership team.Depending on your experience and interests, your work may include traffic engineering, transport planning, transport modelling, road safety, active and public transport, and transport strategy and policy development.The role will involve a combination of ‘hands on’ technical work, project management, client engagement, proposal preparation and mentoring of junior staff, and to contribute to the continued growth of our Brisbane team.

We’re looking for the right person to join the team and contribute to a positive culture and work environment, share their own knowledge and experience, and provide training and support to our up-and-coming team members.

About You

We are looking for someone with 5+ years’ relevant experience in traffic engineering and/or transport planning. Past experience in a consultancy and demonstrated project management and client engagement skills will be highly regarded. Ideally, you will have:

• A relevant Engineering, Transport Planning or related technical qualification
• Strong traffic engineering and/or transport planning experience
• Experience managing projects, tender preparation, client management and in working in multidisciplinary teams
• Experience in a private sector consulting environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent leadership and influencing skills
• A practical, evidence-based approach to problem solving
