Senior Operations Manager – Brisbane Port

Our dynamic team with specialised leaders, operators and stevedores offer a customised supply chain solution across a diverse range of industries.

Specialists in stevedoring, berth operations and management, infrastructure and warehousing, our team of nearly 1,000 skilled operators support national and international customers moving break bulk, bulk and a growing scope of project cargo.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a capable, confident and commercially savvy Senior Operations Manager to lead our Port Stevedoring and Logistics Operations.

As a Senior Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role within the port supply chain, including leading a team that will support you in delivering stevedoring, customer and third-party service providers requirements.

Your primary leadership competencies will enable a skilled blue-collar workforce that is underpinned by a union industrial instrument. You will lead from the front with strong communication, agility and flexibility, troubleshooting to ensure operational and customer deliverables are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the port operational deliverables, driving outcomes through team members and direct reports, handling cargoes including containers, steel, roll-on roll-off and port project cargoes.
• Demonstrate leadership and commercial acumen whilst supporting a team of four direct reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and IT.
• Embrace and live our client’s safety values whilst maintaining their excellent workplace culture and work environment.

About You

We are looking for a capable, confident and present leader with demonstrated experience in a complex operational environment. You should have a considered, collaborative and forward-thinking mindset, with experience leading in a unionised (blue collar) workplace and stevedoring/maritime being advantageous.
