Job summary

JS Careers partners with a leading markets-aligned financial services business to appoint a Senior Operational Risk Manager. Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk, you will provide independent, second-line oversight of operational risk across the Equities and Fixed Income divisions.

This hands-on, front-to-back role spans trade lifecycle risk, regulatory deliverables, and change oversight, collaborating with Enterprise Risk Advisory and COOs to embed risk considerations from design through

Qualifications

• 7-10 years' experience in operational risk management within equities, FX, commodities, or fixed income businesses.
• Strong understanding of operational and conduct risks in financial markets, including trade lifecycle and regulatory obligations.
• Experience in a large, complex, international environment with ability to challenge control frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent challenge and oversight of the operational risk profile across Equities and Fixed Income, including trade processing, market conduct, and control environment effectiveness.
• Partner with first-line stakeholders to identify, assess, and remediate control gaps; drive a culture of proactive risk ownership.
• Take ownership of risk-owned deliverables related to regulatory obligations, including reporting, attestations, and control assurance activities.
• Represent Operational Risk in change initiatives affecting Equities and Fixed Income, ensuring risk considerations are embedded from design through implementation.
• Contribute to evaluation and sign-off of new business approvals, assessing operational risk before onboarding or launch.
• Monitor KRIs and emerging risk themes; escalate material issues to senior stakeholders and risk committees.
• Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and remediation plans for operational risk events.
• Contribute to enhancement of the operational risk framework, methodology, and reporting standards across the Risk Division.
• Build and maintain relationships with Internal Audit, Compliance, and other second-line functions for a coordinated risk view.
