Job summary

Amana Community Services seeks an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to join as a subcontractor in Sydney. You will assess clients, develop therapy plans, recommend assistive technology, and support independence across NDIS and aged care sectors.

The role requires a Degree in Occupational Therapy, current AHPRA registration, and experience in disability/aged care. Willingness to travel to client locations and teamwork with families and carers are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Current AHPRA registration is required.
• Experience in disability and/or aged care recommended.
• Strong communication, report writing and organizational skills desired.
• Knowledge of NDIS and aged care funding and service systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments.
• Develop and implement individualised therapy plans.
• Provide interventions to improve functional capacity, mobility, and daily living skills.
• Complete functional assessments and prepare professional reports.
• Recommend assistive technology, equipment, and home modifications.
• Collaborate with clients, families, carers, support workers, and healthcare professionals.
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Provide guidance and training to support workers and carers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and clinical records.
• Ensure compliance with NDIS and Aged Care Standards and ACS policies.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our growing team as a subcontractor.

The successful candidate will work with clients across both the NDIS and Aged Care sectors, providing assessments, therapeutic interventions, assistive technology recommendations, and support to improve clients' independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments.
• Develop and implement individualised therapy plans.

• Recommend assistive technology, equipment, and home modifications.

• Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, Aged Care Quality Standards, and ACS policies and procedures.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current AHPRA registration.
• Demonstrated experience within the disability and/or aged care sector.
• Strong understanding of NDIS and aged care funding and service systems.
• Experience supporting clients with complex physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and age-related needs.
• Excellent communication, report writing, and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and home modifications.
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to client locations.
• Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
• ABN and ability to operate as a subcontractor.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• Experience working with Arabic-speaking communities.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills.
• Experience within multidisciplinary teams.
• Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) experience.
• Home Modifications and Assistive Technology assessment experience.
