Ability Action Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist in the North Canberra region. You will deliver timely therapeutic services, assess and formulate goals, and provide interventions to improve participants’ independence and wellbeing.

The role supports graduates with supervision and professional development, in a balanced mix of home, community visits and clinic spaces. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, stay compliant with legislation, mentor junior

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy membership with AHPRA.
• Experience as an Occupational Therapist or Senior Occupational Therapist beyond graduation.
• Passionate about community-based support for people with disability.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
• Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Desire to mentor graduates and early career clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Manage an allocated caseload (based on negotiated hours) and deliver timely therapeutic services.
• Assess participants’ developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function and capacity through clinical observations and standardised assessments.
• Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each participant.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help participants enhance their quality of life and meet their goals.
• Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support participant outcomes.
• Caseload will be tailored to your experience, interests and professional goals.
• Support the growth and development of graduates and early career clinicians.
