Job summary

Norwest Private Hospital is seeking a Level 3 Senior Occupational Therapist to lead within our Allied Health team. The part-time position (three days a week) offers scope to grow the role and influence service delivery across acute wards.

You will deliver therapies, conduct inpatients sessions, perform risk assessments, and work closely with nurses and other Allied Health clinicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Occupational Therapist with current AHPRA status.
• Eligible to work in Australia.

At Norwest Private Hospital, we are seeking a Level 3 Senior Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Allied Health team in a part-time permanent capacity for three (3) days a week with the opportunity to grow the role in the future.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to become the clinical lead across a range of acute wards to facilitate the assessment of equipment needs, functional assessments, cognitive assessments and service provision to facilitate patient safety and discharge within a multidisciplinary team.

As an Occupational Therapist in our team, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering therapeutic services to patients with a broad range of acute conditions
• Undertaking individual sessions for inpatients
• Conducting risk assessment and safety planning
• Working collaboratively with other Allied Health clinicians and nursing staff

• Acute, clinical OT experience and expertise
• A commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
• Experience and expertise in delivering of a broad range of evidence based therapeutic approaches
• Authority to Work in Australia
• Working with Children check (or the ability to acquire one)
• Appropriate tertiary qualification/s pertaining to specific discipline/designation
• Registration with AHPRA
• Self-motivation and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning, collaborative team
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• A proactive, self-motivated and patient-focused approach
