Job summary

Better Staff, a Brisbane-based MSP, is expanding its enterprise capability and seeks two Network Security Engineers. These hands-on roles offer visibility, influence over team operations, and rapid progression for high‑performing engineers.

You’ll design, build, and support secure network solutions across client environments, configure firewalls and VPNs, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to engineering standards while mentoring others.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in Network and Security Engineering (consulting or MSP background preferred).
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Check Point, Palo Alto, or similar platforms.
• Solid understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud networking.
• Exposure to enterprise or data centre networking.
• Confidence managing incidents, changes, and continuous improvement.
• ITIL or change management exposure (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy secure network solutions.
• Configure and support firewalls, VPNs, cloud networking, and core infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex network and security issues in production environments.
• Produce clear documentation and contribute to engineering standards.
• Work closely with delivery and operations teams to achieve great outcomes for customers.
