Job summary

Decipher Bureau in Canberra is seeking 3 Senior Network Security Engineers to join a leading Australian cyber security consultancy. You will own end-to-end network security solutions across LAN, WAN, SASE, SD-WAN and datacentre environments, from high-level design through to handover.

Location: Canberra with flexible hybrid arrangements and a preference for client-site delivery. The role offers a strong federal government pipeline and attractive remuneration up to $200k plus super and bonus

Qualifications

• 3–4+ years hands-on networking experience.
• Integrator background across multiple clients/environments.
• Knowledge of latest firewall releases and features.
• Federal market experience or strong interest in the space.
• NV1 clearance preferred (or baseline considered).

Responsibilities

• Own the full delivery lifecycle: HLD, LLD, implementation and handover across complex network security solutions.
• Work hands-on across LAN, WAN, SASE, SD-WAN, NGFW and datacentre environments.
• Partner with vendor technologies including Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Aruba and Cloudflare.
• Provide expert technical guidance to clients, translating requirements into robust solutions.
• Operate as an independent contributor while growing the team's knowledge base.
• Stay current with platform releases and vendor developments.

The Role:

We're hiring for 3x Senior Network Security Engineers to join a high-performing, Canberra-based secure networks team. You'll work across LAN, WiFi, WAN, SASE, SD-WAN, NGFW, and datacentre technologies, owning solutions end-to-end. from high-level design through to low-level design, implementation, and handover.

Location: Canberra - very flexible hybrid working arrangements, with a preference for working on client site.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own the full delivery lifecycle: HLD, LLD, implementation, and handover, across complex network security solutions.

• Operate as an independent contributor on complex projects, while contributing to the team's broader technical knowledge base.
• Stay current with the latest platform releases and vendor developments - this is a team that is genuinely passionate about all things networking and firewalls.

Experience Needed:

• 3-4+ years of hands-on, mid to senior-level networking experience.
• Integrator background strongly preferred - you've delivered across multiple clients and environments, not sat static in a single long-term customer contract.
• A true technologist: someone who knows the latest firewall release, not a corporate operator.
• Federal market experience or strong interest in the space.
• NV1 clearance preferred (or baseline considered).li>
• Comfortable owning projects independently - this is not a service desk or early-career network role.
• Strong in at least 1-2 of the core vendor technologies (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Aruba, Cloudflare).
