Job summary

Talent is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a leading Financial Services provider in a permanent role. You will operate within a large, high-performance network, focusing on BAU and operational support across data centres, routing and switching, and network operations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant vendor certifications, ideally CCNP or CCIE.
• Proven network engineering and operations experience in large, complex environments (ISP experience preferred).
• Advanced Cisco routing and switching knowledge, including BGP, OSPF, STP, NX-OS and Nexus 9000.
• Hands-on experience with VXLAN, EVPN or related overlay technologies and orchestration platforms such as NDFC or DCNM.
• Experience with Cloudflare or Akamai would be highly regarded.
• Superior troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently as required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues and lead major incident resolution.

A leading Financial Services provider is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong data centre, routing and switching, and network operations experience to join their team on a permanent basis.

Joining a highly experienced network operations team, you will provide senior-level support across a large, complex and high-performance network environment. You will lead the diagnosis and resolution of technical issues, support major incidents, monitor network performance and alarms, and provide detailed design and technical review of network changes.

The role is primarily focused on BAU and operations, with responsibility for smaller project initiatives, technical consultations and the implementation of strategic network changes. You will work closely with architecture, engineering, security and customer-facing teams and participate in a periodic on-call roster.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant vendor certifications, ideally CCNP or CCIE
• Proven network engineering and operations experience gained within large, complex environments (previous experience working for an ISP would be highly regarded)
• Advanced Cisco routing and switching knowledge, including BGP, OSPF, STP, NX-OS and Nexus 9000 switches
• Hands-on experience with VXLAN, EVPN or related overlay technologies and orchestration platforms such as NDFC or DCNM
• Experience working with Cloudflare or Akamai would be highly regarded
