Job summary

Talent Corp, a leading financial services provider in Sydney, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. You will join a mature network operations group, provide senior-level support across a large, complex environment, diagnose issues, support major incidents, monitor performance, and review network changes.

The role focuses on BAU and operations, with some smaller project work and an on-call roster.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications and/or vendor certifications (CCNP/CCIE preferred).
• Experience in large, complex environments (ISP background preferred).
• Advanced Cisco routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, STP, NX-OS).
• Hands-on with VXLAN, EVPN and related overlay technologies and orchestration platforms (NDFC, DCNM).
• Experience with Cloudflare or Akamai is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call roster.

Job description

A leading Financial Services provider is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong data centre, routing and switching, and network operations experience to join their team on a permanent basis.

Joining a highly experienced network operations team, you will provide senior-level support across a large, complex and high-performance network environment. You will lead the diagnosis and resolution of technical issues, support major incidents, monitor network performance and alarms, and provide detailed design and technical review of network changes.

The role is primarily focused on BAU and operations, with responsibility for smaller project initiatives, technical consultations and the implementation of strategic network changes. You will work closely with architecture, engineering, security and customer-facing teams and participate in a periodic on-call roster.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant vendor certifications, ideally CCNP or CCIE
• Proven network engineering and operations experience gained within large, complex environments (previous experience working for an ISP would be highly regarded)
• Advanced Cisco routing and switching knowledge, including BGP, OSPF, STP, NX-OS and Nexus 9000 switches
• Hands-on experience with VXLAN, EVPN or related overlay technologies and orchestration platforms such as NDFC or DCNM
• Experience working with Cloudflare or Akamai would be highly regarded
• Superior troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently as required
