Job summary

Mesh Cyber in Canberra is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a full-time permanent or contract role. You will design and deploy network and security solutions across SD-WAN, SSE, cloud networking, SIG, wireless, firewalls, and more, while maintaining systems and monitoring.

Australian citizenship and an active AGSVA security clearance are required. The role includes leading design projects, automating deployments with IaC, developing threat detection, and incident response support, reporting

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience working in a Network Engineering role.
• Desirable: 2+ years’ experience leading network design and architecture projects.
• Vendor certifications from Fortinet, HPE/Aruba, Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto Networks.
• Knowledge of PSPF, ISM, Essential 8, DISP, PCI-DSS, NIST and ISO 27001/31000.
• Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or relevant experience.
• A background working in ICT, Cyber Security, Defence, Law Enforcement or related fields is welcomed.
• Current AGSVA Security Clearance (at any level) or the ability to obtain and uphold a security clearance. For this role Australian Citizenship is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Designing, deploying, managing and maintaining network and network security systems.
• Automating network deployments, upgrades and maintenance through scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Integrating network solutions with cybersecurity technologies including XDR, SIEM, and SOAR.
• Contributing to the development of mid-level and junior network engineers and administrators.
• Leading break-fix and triage of network issues by leveraging strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Mesh Modern Solutions capability.
• Utilise clear and concise writing skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
• Confidently present findings to customers and peers in face-to-face and virtual settings.

Job description

This is a full-time permanent or contract role for a Senior Network Engineer located in Canberra.

To apply for this position you must be an Australian Citizen and hold an active AGSVA security clearance.

As a Senior Network Engineer in our Modern Solutions capability, you will lead projects to design and deploy security solutions such as SD-WAN, Security Services Edge (SSE), Cloud Networking (Azure, AWS and GCP), Secure Internet Gateways (SIG), Wireless, Firewalls, LAN, email and cloud security solutions for our customers.

The role will also be responsible for managing and maintaining network and cloud systems, network security solutions, network monitoring systems, analysing event data, and configuring and optimising the network platforms. The role involves collaborating with other cybersecurity team members to ensure efficient threat detection, developing security alerts and reports, and providing incident response support.
