Job summary

Nixil Pty is leading a major data centre exit program for South Australian Government services. This on-site role is based in Adelaide, supporting a 12-month contract with potential permanent opportunity for strong performers.

You will build, test and migrate critical network infrastructure with Cisco and Palo Alto expertise, reporting to a Senior Network Architect and Project Manager. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused senior role in a government environment.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on senior network engineering experience in enterprise or government environments.
• CCNP certification required.
• Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Palo Alto firewalls.
• Proven delivery experience across data centre migrations or major infrastructure changes.
• Solid experience working within South Australian Government environments.
• A methodical approach to implementation, change management and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure and test network infrastructure against approved designs.
• Deliver migration activities, including cutovers, change windows and post-migration validation.
• Configure and maintain Cisco routing and switching infrastructure and Palo Alto firewall policies.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues during and after migration.
• Prepare implementation plans, change records and operational documentation.
• Support physical infrastructure activities across sites, including occasional equipment transport.

Take a hands-on lead in a major data centre migration supporting critical South Australian Government services.

Join a global technology services provider and key network partner to the SA Government, delivering a major data centre exit program.

Working closely with a Senior Network Architect and customer Project Manager, you’ll build, test and migrate critical network infrastructure safely and on schedule.

This opportunity suits an experienced Network Engineer with strong Cisco and Palo Alto expertise who enjoys complex technical delivery.

Location: 100% on-site across Adelaide CBD and fringe locations, including a data centre in Glenside.

Engagement: 12-month contract, with potential conversion to permanent employment for strong performers and no conversion barriers.

What you’ll do

What you’ll bring

Mandatory requirements

• Australian citizenship.
• Ability to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
• Current driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle for occasional travel and equipment transport between sites. Associated expenses are covered.
• Availability to work fully on-site in Adelaide.

Highly regarded

• CCIE certification, or progress towards it.
• Palo Alto PCNSE certification.
• Experience with integrators supporting SA Government networks, such as NEC.
• Experience working under government managed services or panel arrangements.
• Willingness to support occasional after-hours cutover windows.
