Job summary
AARNet is seeking an experienced network architect with a strong telecommunications background to join the Network Architecture team. The role focuses on designing and deploying evolutions to the AARNet network and related systems, with travel across Australia.
The successful candidate will present technical customer solutions and work independently to solve problems; responsibilities include network design, automation, security reviews, cost analyses and documentation.
Qualifications
- 10+ years' experience in the IT&T industry.
- Carrier-grade MPLS, IP, Ethernet, DWDM and Data Centre Networking experience.
- Experience designing, securing and deploying large campus or national scale networks.
- Experience with Unix/Linux systems.
- Experience with SDN, network management, automation and orchestration.
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Cumulus and Nvidia network design.
- Cloud solutions integration and private connectivity to cloud providers.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Australian resident and eligible to obtain Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evolutions to the network architecture.
- Develop and implement network automation and orchestration capabilities.
- Undertake and participate in security reviews and uplift.
- Undertake financial and cost analyses of proposed technologies and strategies.
- Develop test beds and proof of concept designs.
- Write and maintain operational documentation.
