Job summary

DeepHealth seeks a Senior Engineer, R&D to develop, improve, and deliver machine learning models for clinical AI products. This hands‑on role covers data, experimentation, model development, evaluation, and production delivery in collaboration with ML peers, software engineers, clinicians, and product partners.

You will analyze errors, improve data quality, and design robust experiments to boost model quality and operational performance while ensuring reproducibility and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years hands‑on experience developing and delivering machine learning models.
• Strong foundations in deep learning and computer vision (image classification, detection, or segmentation).
• Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch.
• Track record of deploying models into products and measuring performance beyond development datasets.
• Rigor in experimental design and evaluation with baselines and uncertainty.
• Strong software engineering practices: maintainable code, testing, version control, reproducibility.

Responsibilities

• Improve production models through systematic error analysis, better data, targeted experiments, and changes to architecture and training.
• Develop models for new products from formulation to training, validation, and production integration.
• Define meaningful evaluation criteria with clinicians and product colleagues (sensitivity, specificity, clinical consequences).
• Evaluate robustness across patient populations, sites, and acquisition conditions; build evidence of generalization.
• Improve data curation and annotation workflows to cover gaps and prevent data leakage.
• Build reproducible training/evaluation pipelines with traceable data and model versions.
• Collaborate with software engineers to optimize inference speed, resource use, and reliability.
• Review research, test approaches, and make evidence‑based adoption decisions.
• Contribute to validation and technical documentation with quality/regulatory colleagues.
• Review code/experiments, mentor colleagues, and communicate findings clearly.
