Job summary

SRK Consulting is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer with a strong open pit mine planning background to deliver integrated client solutions across projects in Australia and internationally. You will develop mine plans, schedules, and Ore Reserves inputs, working with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to studies from scoping to feasibility.

The role requires a recognised mining engineering degree, 8+ years' experience, and proficiency with mine design software.

Qualifications

Recognised degree in mining engineering.
Minimum of 8 years' experience, open pit and consulting or study background preferred.
Proficiency in mine design and scheduling software.
Experience in pit optimisation, production scheduling and life-of-mine planning.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

Develop mine plans including mine designs and schedules for open pit projects, from optimisation through to life-of-mine.
Deliver mine planning and technical inputs to studies across scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility stages.
Provide practical operational support to mining clients, including short and medium-term planning, reconciliation and improvement work.
Prepare Ore Reserve estimates and supporting documentation to JORC and NI 43-101 standards.
Work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated client outcomes.
Prepare clear, well-reasoned technical reports for clients and third parties.
Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.
