Job summary

Crossfield Energy is building its technical team in Queensland's Bowen Basin. The Senior Mine Surveyor will lead surveying services at the Vulcan Mine Complex and oversee development of mine surveying plans. You will work in a small team, interact across the business, and have input into processes.

Experience with Vulcan, PointStudio, Qbase, Agisoft, and Topcon/Trimble GPS is essential. Roster is 5/2 with accommodation in Dysart or Moranbah; local or DIDO preferred; FIFO may be offered for the

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in QLD Coal Mine Surveying.
• Registered mine surveying competency or ability to obtain in the medium term.
• Experience using mining software including Vulcan, PointStudio, Qbase, Agisoft and Topcon/Trimble GPS.

Responsibilities

• Provide mine surveying services across the Vulcan mine complex, including monthly end-of-month calculations and reporting.
• Operate drones for surveying tasks.
• Act as Chief Remote Pilot (CRP) as required.
• Assist with other mine site technical services activities, including engineering support.
• Liaise with site teams to ensure mine plans align with designs.
• Develop and manage surveying systems and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Oversee and manage a team of mine surveyors.

The Role

Crossfield Energy is currently seeking a SeniorMine Surveyorto join our high-performing technical team at our Vulcan Mine Complex, located in Queensland's Bowen Basin.

The Vulcan Mine complex has been in production since mid-2021 and had expanded mine production to extract 1.95mt per annum. Crossfield have recently acquired this resource rich asset and aim to return to full operation by end of year.

As part of the Technical Services team, this role is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of surveying services. This position is suited to someone who works well within a small team and is capable of interacting effectively across all areas of the business. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an expanding mining organisation and to take ownership of the surveying activities at the Vulcan Mine complex as well as an opportunity to develop mine engineering skills in support of the wider technical services function.

Roster

The position is offered on a 5/2 roster (9DFN flexible option available) with accommodation provided in Dysart or Moranbah. Preference is for local or DIDO however FIFO may be offered for the right candidate.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provision of mine surveying services across the Vulcan mine complex including end of month end of month calculations and reporting;
• Operation of Drones
• Act as Chief Remote Pilot (CRP)
• Assist with other mine site technical services activities, including engineering support;
• Liaise with other site teams to ensure mine plans are executed in accordance with designs
• Develop and manage surveying systems and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of surveying services;
• Ongoing development and submission of annual statutory mine plans;
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive continual improvement.
• Ability to oversee and manage a team of mine surveyors.

About the Candidate

We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated professional with the following qualifications;

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in QLD Coal Mine Surveying
• Registered mine surveying competency or capacity to obtain in the medium term;
• Experience using mining software including Vulcan, PointStudio, Qbase, Agisoft and Topcon/Trimble GPS.
• May be required to complete background screening which may include a criminal check and validation of qualifications.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening.
