Job summary

Brennan in Canberra seeks a Senior Microsoft Technical Consultant to lead the delivery of Microsoft-based solutions for government agencies and Canberra-region businesses. You will act as the technical lead on projects, overseeing other consultants on larger engagements and translating technical concepts into business outcomes.

The role requires 5+ years IT project delivery, deep Microsoft product knowledge (AD, M365, Intune, AVD, Citrix), security‑focused architecture, and strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years IT project delivery experience.
• Specialising in Microsoft technologies: OS, infrastructure and management.
• Experience with MDT, SCCM, Intune; Active Directory; M365; AVD/RDS/Citrix.
• Design and implement on-premises, hybrid and cloud Microsoft technologies.
• Delivering Essential Eight and ISM-aligned security controls.
• Automation and integration using PowerShell and Infrastructure as Code.
• Endpoint management: RSoP, allowlisting, security baselines.
• Exposure to IAM, Monitoring, SIEM and SASE spaces.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• NV1 clearance is required; National Criminal History Check will be part of the process.

• Conduct comprehensive system discovery and analysis to drive solution development and delivery.
• Design and implement end-to-end architectures aligned with security standards.
• Develop documentation artefacts to describe technical solutions, configurations, and procedures.
• Execute system changes, upgrades, and implementations.

We are growing our community of dedicated engineers committed to delivering excellence to government agencies and Canberra-region businesses, hence seeking Senior Microsoft Technical Consultants who can bring their expertise and a can-do attitude to develop and deliver technical solutions that strengthen the business outcomes and security posture of our clients.

You will act as the technical lead on projects, likely overseeing other consultants on larger engagements.

Key skills and expeirence required:

• Minimum 5 years IT project delivery experience.
• Skills and experience with Microsoft technologies - Current OS, infrastructure, and management capabilities.
• Specialising in most of the following technologies: SOE build through MDT/SCCM/Intune, Active Directory, M365, AVD/RDS/Citrix, other core Microsoft products.
• Design and Implementation skills and experience in on-premises, hybrid and cloud Microsoft technologies.
• Delivering Essential Eight and ISM aligned solutions uplifting security posture of environments with a focus on restricting administrative privileges.
• Skills in automation and integration using PowerShell and Infrastructure as Code.
• Specialising in endpoint management principals like RSoP, application allowlisting, Essential 8, security baselines.
• Exposure to complementary non-Microsoft solutions in the IAM, Monitoring, SIEM, and SASE space.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

NV1 Clearance is required for this role.
