Job summary

Talison Lithium is seeking a Metallurgical Team Lead to manage a team of plant metallurgists, optimising performance and supporting multiple lithium processing facilities. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and achieving production targets within specification.

You will lead development of the metallurgical team, mentor staff, and drive continuous improvement while operating on an 8:6 roster with 10-hour shifts and DIDO accommodation options.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years' experience in a metallurgical role.
• Proven ability to achieve production targets in a processing environment.
• Strong understanding of mineralogy and metallurgical processes.
• Experience analysing sampling and production data.
• Sound knowledge of risk management, safety regulations and safe work practices.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring production performance against targets and budget.
• Preparing and reviewing production reports.
• Optimising metallurgical processes to improve plant performance and recovery.
• Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Supporting product quality through collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Leading, mentoring and developing members of the metallurgical team.
• Maintaining high safety and housekeeping standards.
• Assisting with operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
