Job summary

Catholic Education - Diocese Of Cairns is partnering with Talent Quarter to recruit a Mental Health Practitioner (Social Worker / Allied Health) for its Medicare Mental Health Centre in Redcliffe. The role involves biopsychosocial assessments, recovery planning and group programs within a peer-inclusive team.

You will support people facing distress through person-centered care and evidence-based therapies, in a community setting with flexible hours and strong supervision.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a relevant Allied Health discipline.
• Current AASW eligibility or registration.
• Experience undertaking biopsychosocial or psychosocial assessments.
• Experience developing recovery plans and supporting outcomes.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based, recovery-oriented practice.
• Ability to respond calmly to distress and complexity.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Strong collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Complete mental health assessments and identify individual needs.
• Deliver short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
• Provide talk-based therapies to support mental health outcomes.
• Manage a varied caseload including complex presentations.
• Develop appropriate support plans and referral pathways.
• Collaborate with clinicians and peer support workers.
• Support clients for approximately three to six months.
