Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a Staff Specialist or Senior Medical Officer to provide high quality care to Lotus Glen Correctional Centre patients. Work in partnership with other Queensland Health agencies and external health providers to maintain a coordinated approach to the management of patients across the continuum. Add value to the health service through continual development of clinical knowledge and skills.

Working at the Lotus Glen Correctional Centre within rural health services across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, you will contribute as a dynamic Senior Medical Practitioner (GP) with an interest in Offender Health. You will deliver high-quality care to patients at Lotus Glen Correctional Centre, upholding clinical standards essential for achieving positive health outcomes within a primary healthcare setting. You will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes nurse practitioners, senior medical officers, clinical nurse consultants, clinical nurses, and registered nurses.
Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) evidence as required for your employment in accordance with legislation/government policy and Directives.

The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres, extending to Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north, and Croydon in the west. The outer western region includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the primary referral hospital for Far North Queensland and also serves Cape York and the Torres Strait. Some high-level acute services are provided in Townsville and Brisbane.
