Job summary

Amazon LEO's Antenna Test Infrastructure team seeks a senior mechanical engineering lead for tooling and chamber design. You will own the full lifecycle from concept to commissioning, driving GD&T rigor and design reviews while coordinating internal and external partners to meet stringent RF and thermal specs.

This hands-on leadership role requires budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination, with a track record of large-scale capital builds and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in precision engineering or aerospace.
• Experience with 3D CAD (NX preferred) and PLM (Teamcenter preferred).
• Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience performing structural and/or thermal FEA.
• Experience with CMM programming and first-article inspection.
• Experience with project-managing mechanical design efforts including budgeting and scheduling.
• Experience leading design reviews and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the full design lifecycle of test fixtures, assembly tooling, and RF chamber mechanicals.
• Drive GD&T rigor, lead design reviews, and meet RF, thermal, and dimensional requirements.
• Hands-on leadership with vendors and internal partners on complex builds.
• Set mechanical design standards and mentor junior engineers.
