Senior Mechanical Engineer Processing Perth Based

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is accountable for the independent delivery and technical leadership of mechanical engineering activities across assigned projects, studies and engineering packages.

The role is responsible for developing practical and technically sound engineering solutions, undertaking and reviewing engineering calculations, selecting and specifying mechanical equipment, and interpreting and applying applicable Australian and international standards, codes, specifications and project requirements.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years technical and practical experience in the design and construction of mineral processing plants including detailed understanding of multi-discipline design delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to independently deliver complex mechanical engineering scopes.
• Demonstrated experience selecting, sizing, specifying and evaluating mechanical equipment and systems.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply Australian and international engineering standards and codes.
• Experience preparing and reviewing mechanical engineering deliverables, technical reports, specifications, calculations, datasheets and drawings.
• Experience with vendor technical evaluation, procurement and equipment selection.
• Experience supporting or leading fabrication, construction, commissioning and troubleshooting activities. Completing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations.
• Technical review of mechanical drawings and vendor documentation.
• Preparing and / or reviewing data sheets, scopes and tender evaluations for equipment procurement.
• Ensuring design compliance with statutory regulations and company standards.
• Full and unrestricted Australian working rights

Qualifications and Licences:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia.
