Job summary

Worley is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the project team based at Wagerup, WA. The role starts on site full time and may transition to a hybrid arrangement once familiarised with the project.

You will deliver mechanical engineering services for major assets, lead discipline activities, and provide technical direction across engineering and design teams. Extensive brownfield/refinery experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification with a 4-year Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of technical experience in refinery/mining or similar industries; leadership on discipline projects.
• Extensive brownfield processing plant/refinery experience, preferably Alumina.
• Ability to work across multiple projects and phases of engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of equipment layout, piping systems and pump design.
• Experience with P&ID drawings and structural reading of drawings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical engineering services meeting requirements and codes.
• Perform design and technical verification of discipline deliverables.
• Develop fit-for-purpose solutions from concept to as-built.
• Identify hazards and lifecycle risks; close out actions.
• Coordinate engineering tasks, scope control and reviews.
• Prepare mechanical estimates for RFQs with assumptions and schedules.
• Provide technical direction and supervision for engineering/design teams.
• Ensure outputs align with schedule and budget, managing changes.
