Job summary

Worley is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead delivery of high-quality mechanical engineering outcomes across complex resources and industrial projects in Australia. You will apply your technical capability, support project delivery, and contribute to safe, sustainable solutions for our customers.

You will oversee design and procurement activities, drive compliance with standards, mentor junior staff, and act as mechanical engineering lead on projects where required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree recognised in Australia and entitlement to work in Australia.
• Registration: CPEng preferred; RPEV/RPEQ mandatory.
• Experience in aluminium smelting or similar industry required.
• Strong technical and practical engineering skills with delivery of quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical engineering services meeting specifications, on time and within budget.
• Initiate, manage and supervise mechanical project requirements as needed.
• Prepare progress reports and support required checking procedures.
• Ensure scope clarity and manage changes per project processes.
• Assist procurement, construction and commissioning activities including bid evaluations and POs.
• Act as mechanical engineering lead on projects when required.
