Job summary

Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical systems for mining and tailings projects across Australia and internationally. You will guide engineers, mentor junior staff, and ensure robust, risk-informed solutions in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

You will provide technical leadership, review hydraulic models, and contribute to proposal development while advancing KCB's mechanical capability in a growing market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) is required.
• NER, CPEng, RPEQ or equivalent accreditation is required.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in mining, industrial, infrastructure, or oil & gas sectors.
• Strong expertise in piping systems, hydraulic modelling, pressure vessels, tanks, and slurry transport systems.
• Experience delivering projects within EPC or EPCM environments.
• Experience mentoring engineering teams and leading technical reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of tailings pipelines, pump stations, and slurry transport systems.
• Provide technical leadership across project teams.
• Mentor junior and intermediate mechanical engineers.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, pipeline stress analysis, and piping design reviews.
• Lead technical reviews to ensure quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Support proposal development and client engagement.
• Grow KCB's mechanical practice across Australia.
