Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to deliver innovative solutions across mining and resources projects, guiding design from concept through construction. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, ensuring practical and value-driven outcomes for clients.

You will mentor engineers, help develop proposals and cost assessments, and support project delivery from early concept to construction. This role emphasises collaboration, technical excellence and client service.

Qualifications

• Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualifications and RPEQ registration, or eligibility to obtain it.
• Experience delivering mining, manufacturing, oil and gas, energy projects.
• Ability to think strategically and deliver practical client solutions.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams through lifecycle.
• Understanding of industry standards and regulations for industrial facilities.
• Experience applying project delivery methodologies for outcomes.
• Track record delivering high-quality engineering in complex environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication to influence stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership across project teams and client organizations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to deliver innovative engineering solutions across mining and resources projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical challenges and deliver integrated outcomes.
• Build client relationships, guide technical discussions and align design with project goals.
• Guide and review work of engineers and designers to ensure quality docs and deliverables.
• Support development of emerging engineers through coaching and mentoring.
• Contribute to winning work by preparing proposals, estimates and cost assessments.
