Stantec – Energy & Resources in Brisbane seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver sustaining capital and major mining projects from concept to execution. You will lead design teams, mentor engineers and coordinate across disciplines to achieve integrated project outcomes.

Applicants should have 5+ years in mining, strong process and piping experience, and be eligible for RPEQ. The role offers flexible working and development opportunities within a global engineering leader.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Mining & Resources with exposure across value chain.
• Experience delivering projects from feasibility through to detailed design.
• Ability to prepare and review technical reports, calculations and design documents.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design standards and codes.
• Proven track record collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Leadership or mentoring experience with junior engineers.
• High proficiency with fluids and mineral processing software is desirable.
• Eligible for or hold RPEQ certification.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join Stantec's Engineering & Design team in Brisbane. As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering team, you'll contribute to the delivery of sustaining capital and major mining and resource sector projects across the full project lifecycle, from concept studies through to detailed design and execution.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• 5 years' experience within the Mining and Resources sector

• Strong experience in minerals processing, pumping and piping systems, materials handling and comminution systems, and associated process infrastructure

• Exposure to multiple stages of the mining and mineral processing value chain, from Pit to Port

• Experience delivering projects from feasibility and concept studies through to detailed design and execution

• Ability to prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications, and design documentation

• Sound knowledge of relevant mechanical engineering design standards, codes, and engineering systems

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering and design teams to achieve integrated and successful project outcomes

• Previous experience leading or mentoring engineers and supporting the development of junior team members

• Proficiency in industry recognised software such as FluidFlow, Helix, Sidewinder, and JKSimMet is highly desirable

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach to project delivery

• Required to hold or be eligible for RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland).
