LVI Associates is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our client, a leading data center developer and operator, based in Sydney. You will help design, develop and deliver hyperscale and mission-critical facilities across APAC, from concept through construction and into operations.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mechanical systems for data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of cooling technologies, chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, thermal management and plant selection.
• Experience with design management and project delivery across multiple project stages.
• Knowledge of commissioning, testing, and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams and influence key stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Act as the mechanical engineering subject matter expert across data center development projects.
• Review and provide guidance on mechanical system designs, ensuring quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Support the design, delivery, commissioning, and optimisation of mission-critical facilities.
• Work closely with project, development, and operations teams to develop innovative and efficient cooling solutions.
• Lead technical assessments, due diligence activities, and engineering reviews for new developments and acquisitions.
• Contribute to engineering standards, design frameworks, and long-term operational strategies.
• Engage with consultants, contractors, vendors, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive sustainability initiatives, focusing on energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and resilient infrastructure solutions.
