Overview

GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES) is an ASX listed company specialising in the design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants. GRES has a proven track record of delivering projects in over 20 countries for a vast range of precious, bulk and industrial commodities with over 800 employees across Australia.

GRES is looking for a proactive hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer. If you are interested in working on real projects, making large contributions to the design, having meaningful influence and taking the next step in your career this could be a good opportunity for you.

Ideal candidates will have a background in mineral processing and the ability to work in a multi-disciplined project team based in our Ascot office.

We will also consider an experienced engineering candidates looking to step into a senior role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working in a project team to achieve design budgets and schedules including technical direction and co-ordination including opportunities to lead teams on smaller projects and progress your career.
  • Assisting designers in the development of conceptual designs.
  • Completing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations.
  • Technical review of mechanical drawings and vendor documentation.
  • Preparing and / or reviewing data sheets, scopes and tender evaluations for equipment procurement.
  • Assisting with internal and client design reviews and resolving outcomes.
  • Ensuring design compliance with statutory regulations and company standards.
  • Ensure designs are fit for purpose and consider all aspects, including, cost, constructability, operability, and maintainability.
  • Supporting site construction activities remotely.
  • Working with commissioning teams on site.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia.
  • Minimum of 6 years technical and practical experience in the design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants including detailed understanding of multi-discipline design delivery.
  • Knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles, and practices including sizing conveyors, pumps and other equipment typical in mineral processing.
  • Able to provide input into conceptual layouts and designs through to detailed designs and drawings.
  • Knowledge of current engineering design, standards and practice.
  • High level of communication, written, planning and organisation skills.
  • Proficient with typical engineering software, particularly excel, word, 3D viewing software.
