Job summary

Fresh Consulting seeks a mechanical design engineer to lead prototype development and hardware/system design for consumer electronics. You will create functional prototypes, design electromechanical assemblies, and develop test methods for design validation.

The role requires hands-on leadership across an XFN team including EE, firmware, audio, optical, and manufacturing engineering, with a focus on high-volume production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience shipping high-volume products or complex electromechanical assemblies.
• Led design of complex assemblies from concept to production.
• Expertise with NX/Teamcenter as CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D projects via design of systems and test vehicles for new tech validation.
• Design product components and electromechanical systems for consumer electronics.

Job description

Lead exploration, prototyping, maturing and implementation of new technologies into functional medium volume prototypes to validate technical and product level functionality, use cases and tech maturity. Work alongside a diverse and expert XFN team consisting of EE, FW/SW, Audio, Optical engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology development projects through creation of functional prototypes, development of test methods
• Support RnD projects (NTI and NPI) through the design of systems and test vehicles for new technology introduction studies and technology development.
• Design product components and systems for consumer electronics
• Design electromechanical and optomechanical systems for device testing and validation
• Develop and implement test methods for design validation
• Contribute to creation of technical specifications and product definition.
• Work closely with XFN team consisting of EE, FW/SW/, Audio, Optical, REL, MfgEng

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and/or equivalent industry experience
• 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical design, with demonstrated track record of shipping high‑volume commercial products and/or designing complex electromechanical assemblies in a research/prototype environment
• Demonstrated experience leading the design of complex assemblies and systems from concept to production
• Expertise using NX/Teamcenter as a primary CAD software
• Expertise in 3D/2D CAD, DFM/DFA, GD&T, material properties, and high-volume manufacturing techniques
