Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and knowledge.

• Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and identify repair needs.
• Repair and replace components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and steering.
• Execute welding and fabrication work where required.
• Test vehicles after repairs to ensure work meets specifications.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our automotive service team in South Brisbane, QLD. This is a hands-on technical position where you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to the highest standards. As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive reliable and professional automotive services, whilst maintaining our reputation for quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge

Performing routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and tyre rotations

Conducting comprehensive vehicle inspections and identifying areas requiring repair or maintenance

Repairing and replacing components such as engines, transmissions, brake systems, suspension, and steering systems

Executing welding and fabrication work where required

Testing vehicles after repairs to ensure all work has been completed to specification

Maintaining accurate service records and documentation for all work undertaken

Communicating with customers regarding repair requirements, timelines, and costs

Adhering to workplace health and safety protocols and environmental regulations

Keeping work areas clean and organised, and properly storing tools and equipment

What we're looking for

A recognised automotive trade qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role

Current driver's licence and willingness to test drive vehicles as required

Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools

Strong understanding of vehicle systems including engine, electrical, brake, suspension, and transmission components

Ability to interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and diagnostic reports

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
