Job summary

CareSuper is seeking a Senior Manager Compliance to lead the Compliance Operations unit and work with the General Manager Compliance. The role focuses on incident and breach management, due diligence across communications, and delivering practical risk-based compliance advice to multiple stakeholders.

You will support the Compliance Framework, annual workplan and reporting to the Board and executives, while adapting to evolving regulatory requirements in a dynamic superannuation environment.

Qualifications

• Senior compliance professional with leadership and risk-based judgment.
• Experience leading high-performing teams and cross-functional coordination.
• Degrees in Law, Commerce, Finance or related discipline.
• Senior experience in compliance/risk advisory in financial services or superannuation.
• Clear, practical, risk-based advice and strong governance reporting.

About the role

As our new Senior Manager Compliance, reporting to the General Manager Compliance, you’ll play a key role in delivering an effective compliance operations function that supports CareSuper’s strategic objectives, provides practical compliance advisory services, and ensures timely, consistent management of incidents, breaches and compliance due diligence.

In this role you will:

• Lead the Compliance Operations unit, setting priorities, service standards, accountabilities and delivery expectations.
• Manage the end-to-end incident and breach management framework, including triage, assessment, escalation, regulatory reporting, remediation and closure.
• Lead a structured compliance due diligence process across disclosure documents, member communications, marketing materials and website information.
• Provide clear, authoritative and risk-based compliance advice to stakeholders across the business.
• Support the development, maintenance and delivery of CareSuper’s Compliance Framework, annual workplan and divisional compliance plans.
• Prepare high-quality Board, Committee and Executive reporting, and support regulatory engagement, assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a senior compliance professional who brings leadership, strong judgment, integrity and a practical, risk-based approach to complex regulatory matters. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

• Demonstrated experience leading high-performing teams and coordinating outcomes across multiple business functions.
• Degree qualifications in Law, Commerce, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• Senior compliance, risk, advisory or regulatory experience in superannuation, financial services or another highly regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of laws and regulatory obligations relevant to superannuation or financial services, or the ability to quickly acquire that knowledge.
• The ability to provide clear, practical and risk-based advice on complex matters.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills, including experience with regulatory notifications and senior governance reporting.
• Experience improving compliance systems, tools or processes.
• Experience designing or implementing AI-enabled solutions will be highly regarded.
