Job summary

MW Recruitment has a Ballina-based opportunity for a Business Services Senior Manager within a growing regional advisory firm. You will lead a team, manage a diverse client portfolio, and drive strategic tax planning and business advisory initiatives.

You will guide and develop staff, oversee workflow, and contribute to firm growth with flexible hours and hybrid working arrangements in a coastal Northern Rivers setting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years Australian public practice experience in Business Services and Tax.
• Strong leadership and ownership pathway.
• Experience with cloud-based practice tools and integration across advisory services.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME, family groups, primary production and construction clients up to $100m turnover.
• Review complex compliance for entities including individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
• Deliver tax planning, structuring and business advisory work for clients.
• Lead and mentor a team of accountants and oversee WIP and billing.
• Collaborate with in-house financial planning and lending teams for integrated client strategies.

Business Services Senior Manager | Ballina

Step into a senior leadership role in the largest office of a growing regional advisory firm, with a genuine pathway to partnership.

About The Role

An established multi-disciplinary advisory firm is seeking a Business Services Senior Manager to join its Ballina office, the largest in its network. With around 60 staff across Northern NSW and regional Queensland, the firm brings accounting, tax, financial planning, lending and succession advice together under one strategy for business owners and families. The firm is in a strong growth phase through acquisition and is restructuring to make partner buy-in more accessible, making this an ideal opportunity for a senior accountant ready for the next step.

What You Will Be Doing

• Managing your own portfolio of SME, family group, primary production and construction clients, including groups up to $100m turnover
• Reviewing complex compliance work for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships
• Delivering tax planning, structuring and business advisory work
• Working alongside in-house financial planning and lending specialists to deliver one coordinated client strategy
• Leading, mentoring and reviewing the work of a team of accountants
• Managing WIP, billing and workflow across your client base
• Contributing to business development and firm growth

What We Are Looking For

• CA or CPA qualified
• 8+ years Australian public practice experience in Business Services and Tax
• Current Manager or Senior Manager experience
• Strong technical tax knowledge and confidence leading client meetings
• A genuine interest in leadership, people development and ownership
• Experience with Xero, XPM and FYI highly regarded
• Clear pathway to partnership with flexible buy-in options
